First things first
As we all know, not all pokemon are not created equal. Take a Garchomp vs a Flygon. Two ground dragons types, but in almost every single way imaginable, Garchomp is simply better. So instead of worrying about stats, Pokemon Rift encourages users to role play out the battle instead of deciding it through an actual battle in a simulator or game, much like the Pokemon manga series, Pokemon Special. An actual battle revolves around a lot of swapping, and lots of one/two shots to beat someone, but if we make pokemon able to get much bulkier than normal, the best stallers are what wind up winning. So stats are somewhat disregarded; however, for RP purposes, its best to keep in mind what a pokemon is good at. A Shuckle, with only base 10 attack and special attack, isn't going to be hitting someone very hard or speeding around the place. But it will sit there and tank a heavy hit repeatedly. Also, there are some obvious things about battling that will never really happen outside of something very fishy, like a Magikarp or Sunkurn beating a Metagross or Goodra. These things aren't impossible, just improbably. VERY, improbably.

Pokemon Availability
In the Noxis region, all pokemon are available to be caught. This was quite a struggle to come to (yeah, i make it sound so hard...) because Noxis is meant to be a tropical region, making the lives of Ice pokemon, and pokemon that typically live on plains, to be quite difficult. The rest are typically swamp dwellers, forest and jungle swingers, birds (since there are no birds of paradise, all birds were getting included except ice birds), and water types (fish, crabs, ect). Now, there will be some excepts to what you're allowed to start with. There will be a classification of SUPER rare pokemon, that will not be allowed without paying for (not irl money, just site credit that you earn by posting or helping the forum out). These super rare pokemon are not allowed as starting pokemon. As well as that, you will only be allowed up to two of these pokemon, and if you're a hybrid, that counts towards the total as you are a part of the team.

Spectacularly Uncommon (SU) Pokemon:

On the Subject of Legendary Pokemon

Now, in most RPs, you would see the Legendary status items behind some kind of wall that you can only get by buying it. For pokemon, that means THE Legends; however, this cause a few problems that we don't wish to have. Firstly, by my observations, excluding things from the community and only giving it to those willing to pay tends to create a gap between everyone, since you're basically buying power no one else can get. This power comes in the form of battling power, and RP power. Who could possibly stand up against a being of Time or a being of Space? Yeah, GOD HIMSELF.

*ahem* On a more serious note, I am instead taking a look at all legendary Pokemon, legendary defined as what you can only catch one of in the game, and basing one who is available realistically, and who is balanced for RPing. This list is of legendary Pokemon that will NOT be allowed to RP as without having to keep up a quote of posts to show that you are invested into the character instead of just having them for shits and giggles. These Pokemon you will have to apply for (as there will ONLY be one of these running about) and you'll have to create a profile just for them. You're free to choose if your legendary is a normal Pokemon, or even a hybrid (These hybrids can be a product of their own powers instead of some evil team, as they are quite powerful). More information will be posted in another thread on applying for these spots.

Legendaries:

On the Subject of Ditto
Ditto is an... oddity. Firstly, Imposter is mostly pointless now... In a turn based battle, obviously Imposter works great, but it largely pointless with transform being able to be used whenever. They can largely turn into just about anything they please. Inanimate objects, plants, rocks, steel, Pokemon, and even humans. And on top of all of that, they can remember what they turned into, allowing them to bring up any transformation when they need it; however, over time that memory doesn't keep things 100% accurate unless they are constantly transforming into it, causing the transformation to be weaker than the original. Ditto can also not keep up with legendary Pokemon. Those behemoths just possess to much power for ditto to muster. While Ditto could copy their form, Ditto wouldn't even come close to the same power. A ditto copying a human as well doesn't 100% match either. They cannot replicate the same DNA of the original person, and keeping the right voice over time is difficult, and often turns into something that isn't quite the original. Everything else about the ditto would look exactly the same, even manufacturing their own clothes as a human. Lastly, dittos can manipulate their appearance in any way. Changing their colors, their size, ect.

Biology Changes
Obviously... there are some issues currently with the biology of Pokemon. Charizards aren't even 6 feet tall, Wailords float in the air, and there's a Pokemon hotter than the sun. Obviously, we need to do some correcting. Most third stage Pokemon are much taller than they are in the game. The likes of Charizard, Nidoking, Garchomp, ect are much taller and heavier than what the official stats state. Magcargo is also not the same temperature as the sun... Anything else that's weird about the Pokedex, just try not to abuse, this is your warning.

Mega Evolutions
Just a few notes on this subject. Mega Evolutions are allowed on the site, but you are only allowed to have one mega on a team at a time, same as the game. One thing that will change though is that the mega evolution lasts after the battle, but are not permanent.

Regional Variants
As revealed for the seventh generation of Pokemon, old Pokemon are being slightly redesigned, with new looks and new typing. For all intent and purpose, these are basically new Pokemon with the same name. These variants will also be allowed on the island, and suggestions for new regional variants will be opened as well. Be sure to check [insert link to new thread here] for more details.

Fakemon
I've decided that since we don't have any concerns about balancing stats, Fakemon are going to be easily integrated into the site, with just a small inclusion of a move pool and a rough draft of stats to know what the Pokemon is good at. We'll have a separate thread for approved Fakemon and a thread for Fakemon creation. Also, Fakemon will be allowed to be hybrids.
